Ann Veronica Janssens’ “States of Mind” explores perception through light and colour.
I entered a room full of coloured mist and my first thoughts were “woah I literally can’t see anything but pink”. This pink turned to orange which turned to yellow which turned to green which turned to blue as I made my way across the room.
When you can’t see yourself for a period of time, you start to forget that you exist as a physical entity. It’s just your consciousness moving through all this light and it’s a very strange feeling.
Every now and then you’d see people come into view – I honestly think those moments kept me sane.
It was one of the best exhibitions I’ve been to, and it’s sparked my interest in consciousness and what it really is.
